Ava Maiden

Architectural Assistant

Ava joined Claridge Architects in 2025 after completing her Part 1 architecture qualification at the University of Nottingham. Her final year thesis project explored the retrofit of high-rise towers in Thamesmead into multigenerational co-housing, integrating adaptable layouts and shared communal facilities to support changing family needs over time. This project strengthened her interest in socially driven, community-focused architecture.

In 2023, she participated in a built project in Limpopo, South Africa, as part of the University’s long-running Design/Build studio. As part of a collaborative team of educators, designers, and makers, she contributed to the delivery of Matshela Creche, an early childhood facility now actively used by children in the community. Through this project, she gained practical insight into collaborative building in a real-world context, enhancing her adaptability and hands-on construction experience.
