Adam and Eve Public House

Location: Hillingdon, London

Status: In Planning – 2017

Restoration of a locally listed pub to provide commercial space and 19 new build high quality residential apartments.

Claridge Architects has designed 19 high quality residential units along with the restoration of the locally listed Adam & Eve Public House, to provide 300 sqm of commercial space along Uxbridge Road.

Located in the London Borough of Hillingdon, within the Hayes Village Conservation Area, the proposed scheme restores the original massing of the public house by removing the unsympathetic extensions and crafts a number of meaningful potential amenity spaces. The Proposal is designed so that it is sympathetic and complimentary to the surrounding context at the urban scale as well as the human scale. The scheme uses a similar brick tone to the existing public house and a simple form that is a reinterpretation of the industrial architecture of the site.
