50 The Gardens

This project involves the renovation of an existing two storey side/rear annex at No.50, and the single storey side garage adjacent to No.49 The Gardens, Dulwich, to provide a new well designed high-spec dwelling with two bedrooms and private rear garden for use by any future occupants.
Given the sensitive nature of the site and surrounding area, we are proposing to fully retain the existing buildings and only refresh the facades. We are also proposing new infills to the existing openings on the ground floor of the side/rear annex. This proposal has been creatively designed to retain as much as possible the existing structure, form, massing, bulk, scale and appearance of the current properties, and this principle objective has been adopted given the sites location within The Gardens Conservation Area. By retaining the existing buildings we would be intrinsically respecting this location and the wider area.
