Rick Burney

Architectural Assistant

Rick completed his education at The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen.  Here he undertook his honours and masters where he obtained his RIBA Part II qualification, graduating with distinction in 2010.  His achievements obtained at university include being nominated for the RIBA Part 2 Silver Medal for Design and being awarded best overall MArch student in 2010.  At university Rick also attended the student led 5710 lecture series and visited the work of several celebrated architects in Switzerland on a study tour in 2009.  Since graduating Rick has also won a National RIAS student award for sustainability for his MArch project.

Prior to joining Claridge Architects Rick has worked previously at the design led and award winning practice Reiach and Hall Architects in Edinburgh, where he gained his professional year-out experience.  Here he worked primarily on a major civic office project for Dundee City Council, which was completed in April 2010.

Since joining Claridge Architects in November 2010 Rick has assisted and worked independently on several small to medium sized private residential and refurbishment projects.  Rick is looking conclude his architectural education by studying for his professional RIBA Part III qualification in the near future.
