Qualifying as Architect in 1999 in London, prior to this James regularly led as architectural design leader and site contracts manager on large-scale commercial and industrial projects for Japanese corporate clients. Notable projects included Benihana restaurant interior coordination at Piccadilly, Toyota Lexus Headquarters in Epsom, Bank of Mitsubishi Tokyo, and Interior Fit out works also included trader desk offices at the Broadgate centre in London.
In 1998 he moved to EPR Architects and was lead architect for a 13million pound retained façade project on a grade II listed building in Wigmore Street, London. Other important projects included “shell and core” commercial office project on Regents Street, and also as team project architect on the Royal College of Nursing in London.

In 2002 James worked as a lead project architect in Barcelona for B720 Arquitectos, coordinating this complex sites 14 buildings and service cores and integrating the design with public and private and secure basement car park. The 170million euro Law courts building complex designed by David Chipperfield Architects.
Prior to joining Claridge Architects in February 2011 he has worked as an independent registered architect in Spain since 2003 and also worked as consultant to Endemol Productions UK on an ITV television project in 2004 set in Andalucia.
